At Lambs Journey, leadership is more than a title,  it’s a calling. And that calling is lived out daily by Pastor Dr. Jerry L. Thompson Jr. and First Lady Sarah Thompson, a dynamic, faith-filled team committed to serving God, building people, and impacting the community with excellence.

Pastor Dr. Jerry L. Thompson Jr. is a South Los Angeles native whose life was transformed by a powerful encounter with Christ at the age of 30. Since that moment, he has devoted over 15 years to preaching, teaching, and reaching people with passion and purpose.

After 6 years of faithful service to AGTC , He faithfully served as Assistant Pastor of Apostolic Grace Temple Church for the past four years under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Elect Dr. Thomas P. Russell, where he was nurtured, trained, and was released for greater service. In July 2025, he was installed as the Senior Pastor of Lambs Journey Apostolic Christian Center, answering the call to lead a new work birthed through prayer, preparation, and divine purpose.

Dr. Thompson holds a Doctorate in Ministry (earned in 2024), a Master’s in African American Church History and Divinity, and a Bachelor’s in Pastoral Leadership. He was ordained as an Elder in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) and currently serves as Men’s President for the Mountain States Council, 15th Episcopal District.

In addition to his ministry work, Dr. Thompson is the author of The Signature – I’m Not A Mistake, a powerful book written during the COVID-19 pandemic that reminds believers there is purpose in pain and assurance in God’s plan.

With 15+ years in corporate leadership, he is also certified in Lean Six Sigma, DEI, and Leadership Development, allowing him to lead with both spiritual conviction and practical expertise.

By his side stands First Lady Sarah Thompson, a seasoned and strategic leader in her own right. With over 15 years of experience in training operations, onboarding, instructional design, and leadership development, she has launched enterprise-wide initiatives and developed impactful learning systems across global organizations. Her passion for people has moved her to volunteer her time, funds, and skills within the church and community. 

In 2020 she became the Director of operations for Apostolic Grace Temple Church. In 2022 she also took on the role of Assistant Secretary of the Mountain States Council 15th, Episocopal District. Most recently in 2025 she accepted the role of Vice President of the Mountain States Council Ministers Wives and Widows Auxiliary. 

Most importantly beyond her professional achievements, she is passionate about equipping people to walk in excellence and purpose, both spiritually and practically. She has a spirit of service and love!
